However, the group still found that nearly 75% of sunscreens offer poor protection or contain worrisome ingredients like oxybenzone, which can cause hormone disruption and allergic reactions.

As consumers, it's essential to be aware of these concerns when choosing a sunscreen. Look for products that claim to offer broad-spectrum protection against both UVA and UVB rays. Additionally, choose products with mineral active ingredients like zinc oxide or titanium dioxide, as these are generally safer and more effective.
